Research Topic:

Viral Pathogenesis and Translational Research: Virus-Host Interaction
In response to the serious threats on public health, economy and human health caused by emerging virus infections, it is necessary and urgent to understand the pathogenesis of viral infection and develop antiviral agents. In the past, our laboratory focused on Enterovirus 71 pathogenesis and translational research including:

a. To investigate the molecular mechanism of host protein synthesis shutdown caused by Enterovirus 71; b. To develop anti-Enterovirus 71 agents; c. To study cellular immune response against Enterovirus 71; d. To characterize the roles of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA ) in Enterovirus 71 infection

Molecular Cancer Gene Testing and Personalized Medicine
In response to translational research and personalized medicine, our laboratory also involved in a number of translational research studies and developed in vitro diagnosis (IVD) kit, hoping to reach the level of promotion of cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

a. To identify the genetic biosignatures of high-grade colorectal cancer and characterize the molecular mechanisms; b. To develop IVD kit for ovarian cancer prognosis and treatment response; c. To discover IVD kit for distinguishing multiple primary lung cancers and intrapulmonary metastatic lung cancer; d. To find the integration sits of hepatitis B virus in human genome; e. To investigate hypertrophic cardiomyopathy-associated genes in Taiwan population
