The main theme of the research in our lab is the animal modeling of gene mutations seen in human leukemia.  When a specific mutation or aberrant expression of a gene is observed in clinical leukemia patients, the exact roles of the mutation or aberrant expression still remain unknown.  To explore the pathological and physiological mechanisms, in vivo experiments through genetic engineering on mice are necessary.  These include genetic knock-in, knock-out, transgene, and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, followed by breeding, phenotypic and molecular characterization of the hematopoietic system of different maturation stages.
